While working at a news station over the summer, I was given the opportunity to follow along and help create a news story from 8,000 ft. Alongside Tara Lynch, news anchor for WETM - Elmira, I was able to strap in and interview some members of the elite skydiving team. While I didn't jump out of the plane, I still felt the adrenaline of flying with the parachute door open, and the exhilaration of watching the men measure the wind speed by dropping what seemed like a paper baton, and the ultimate thrill of watching the men jump out to perform their show.
